About United Environmental Services

United Environmental Services (UES) was founded by Toby Hart MIEEM. Toby is the managing director of United Environmental Services Ltd, an ecological consultancy based in the Northwest.  Following a four year degree course in Ecology, Conservation and French from Anglia Ruskin University, he went on to become the Project Ecologist for United Utilities North West in 2002.  During his time at UU much of the role was focused on surveying and managing all ecological aspects of large capital projects.  These include reservoir drawdown, pipeline and construction activities.  He possesses a Great Crested Newt licence and has guided many large projects through the protected species planning, licensing and mitigation processes.

The majority of projects have the potential to impact on the environment, therefore rapid and accurate survey reporting is essential in order to assess ecological, cost and time constraints.  Changes in legislation and corporate responsibility, coupled with increasingly thorough planning laws make surveys a necessity, ahead of any development.

UES recognise the need for a Consultancy that can deliver sensitive yet definitive ecological advice which aims to minimise disruption to both client and the countryside.
