We conduct habitat restoration, often on degraded sites, under licence from Natural England. UES also offer Environmental reinstatement, Woodland Management and Invasive Species Control.
Habitat design and creation
All developments have the potential to impact on habitats, and the species which are supported by them. We work to ensure that this is a positive and not a negative impact, and believe that working with the legislation rather than against it can provide positive results both for the developer and for wildlife in general.
Simple and relatively low cost measures such as bird and bat boxes, attached to buildings and trees, or built into the structures themselves can provide an improvement in habitat quality and help to encourage species which are in decline. Planting regimes which encourage insects and butterflies are another simple way to improve the quality of a habitat.
The creation of ponds is a big help to amphibian species such as the Great Crested Newt.
We have experience in habitat design and creation ranging from small developments through to large pipeline schemes and golf courses.
